Dr. Mengcun Chen, M.D., Ph.D., is a Research Associate at the Center for Translational Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University, and serves as an Attending Surgeon in the Department of orthopaedic Surgery at Wuhan Union Hospital. Fernanda M. Coutinho holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Coimbra, a M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Aveiro, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Coimbra. She is a researcher at the RCM2+ Research Center. Her research interests include robotic telemanipulation with explicit force control and haptic feedback for medical applications, calibration and maintenance of medical devices, and embedded systems design. One of her recent work includes developing a smart cane prototype to improve gait in Parkinson’s disease patients. Since 1995, she has been a Full Professor at the Polytechnic University of Coimbra, where she coordinates the M.Sc. Course in Biomedical Instrumentation. She is the author of several publications in refereed scientific journals and in international scientific conferences in the area of Electrical and Biomedical Engineering. She has participated in several R&D projects related to robot-assisted surgery. She is a Member of IEEE Engineering Medicine & Biology Society.

Dr. Lu Bai received the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Kent, Canterbury, U.K., in 2014. She was a Research Associate with the School of Engineering and Digital Arts, University of Kent, in 2015. She was a Research Associate of mobile sensing with the Department of Computer Science, The University of Sheffield, from 2016 to 2018. She was a KTP Associate and a Data Scientist with Shearwater Systems Ltd., in 2019. She was a Lecturer in Data Analytics with Ulster University, U.K from 2019 to 2023. She joined School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as a Senior Lecturer in July 2023. Her research primarily focuses on the development of smart sensing systems and the application of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics to address challenges in digital health. Her recent work has concentrated on upper limb motion monitoring using inertial sensing systems, which involves developing advanced wearable devices to accurately track and analyses human movement for applications in rehabilitation and assistive technology.

He has carried out his teaching work at the Technical College of Manresa (EPSEM), since 1988 and belongs to the department of mechanical engineering. He collaborates with the Institute of Industrial and Control Engineering (IOC), UPC, since 2008, in the robotics division. His research is focused on rehabilitation and simulation of stroke survivors, the creation of medical devices and the application of kinematics and dynamics to the human body by way of mathematical tools used in robotics. He manages a group with doctors specialized in physical medicine, rehabilitation, and engineers from a number of different fields. This group has published articles in magazines and congresses and owns two patents relating to medical apparatus. Esteban Pena Pitarch belongs to the Service and Industrial Robotics (SIR) research team and is currently working on two competitive projects as the main researcher of one and collaborating in the other. He is a professor and ex-dean of college Escola Polytechnic Superior engineering de Manresa (EPSEM) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia(UPC). His teaching expertise are in Kinematics and Dynamics, and Machinery Design for Undergraduate and Graduate degree for more than 30 years. He has two patents and more than 100 papers on international journals and conferences. Research interests are in Virtual Human Modeling, Rehabilitation, and Human Exoskeleton Construction.

Associate Professor Gulsen Meral graduated from Istanbul University CerrahpaÅŸa School of Medicine in 1994. She became a specialist in pediatrics in 2001. She is Associate Professor in Pediatrics and worked as a specialist as well as deputy chief physician and chief physician at several hospitals. She was the Rectors advisor between 2019-2021 at the Northern Cyprus ITU. She is also an Acupuncture instructor. She worked as a Nutrigenetics graduate course and lecturer and gave undergraduate and graduate courses on child development. She has many national and international publications, and worked on editorial boards and as reviewers. She has a Master's Degree in Hospital Management. She has a Turkish language literature undergraduate education. She completed PhD program in Medical Genetics. In addition to her scientific achievements, she is ambitious about poetry and has 5 poetry books. She is the Founder of the Nutrigenetics and Epigenetics Association, and has memberships in the Green Crescent and Rumelia Association, Istanbul Acupuncture Association, and International Society of Nutrigenetics & Nutrigenomics. She participated in the first and second International Epigenetic Congress as the president. She is still the organizer and educator of the Epigenetic Coaching Program. She is actively giving trainings on Nutrigenetic & Epigenetic Counselling to health professionals from all over the World as a certified CPD program. She continues research and training as the founder and manager of Epigenetic Coaching.

Arthur G. Erdman, P.E., is the Richard C. Jordan Professor and a Distinguished Teaching Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, specializing in mechanical design, bioengineering and product design. He is the Founding Director of the Earl E Bakken Medical Devices Center at the U of MN and was also the Co-Founding Editor of the ASME Journal of Medical Devices. He received his BS degree at Rutgers University and his MS and Ph.D. at RPI. Dr. Erdman has published over 395 technical papers, 3 books, is co- inventor of over 48 patents and shares 9 Best Paper Awards with his colleagues. He has consulted at over 50 companies in mechanical, biomedical and product design. He has received a number of ASME awards including the Machine Design Award, the Outstanding Design Educator Award and the Savio L-Y Woo Translational Biomechanics Medal. He has also been the Chair of twenty-three Design of Medical Devices Conferences.

Norbert Noury is a full professor at the University of Lyon, France. His teaching focuses on the electronics and physics of medical devices. His research activities cover connected health sensors, assisted living environments and, more recently, the regulation of medical devices. After his MSc in Electronics at Grenoble University (1985), he worked 8 years in various industrial companies as an automation engineer. He then defended his PhD in applied Physics (1992) and joined the University of Grenoble (1993), where he initiated new research in Health Smart Homes and wearable health sensors and was teaching Automation engineering. He launched his own research team AFIRM, at lab TIMC-IMAG, which he directed during 8 years (2000-2008). In 2008 he moved to University of Lyon, where he took various responsibilities - Director of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Polytech'Lyon School of Engineering, Director of the Master in Regulations of Medical devices, Director of the BSc in Medical Technologies. Since 2008, he also joined the Biomedical Sensors research group at INL-INSA Lyon where he developed his activities in eHealth, launched a Living Lab for Health and developed innovative wearable noninvasive Smart Sensors for continuous monitoring of actimetrics, fall detection, Thermal measurement, Blood pressure. He guided 30 PhD students (21 directions), authored or co-authored more than 280 scientific papers (H index 36). He is also an entrepreneur who contributed to launching 2 Start Up, exploiting his work and (15) patents. He is a recognized expert at the European Commission (more than 100 projects evaluated), at French ANR (about 20 projects evaluated), and the HCERES (evaluations of 2 labs). In the last 20 years, he was involved in the IEEE France Chapter EMBS, as a Senior Member (since 2006), a secretary (2013-15), President (2015-19) and VP Research (since 2019). He is also frequently involved in the organization committees of international scientific events (IEEEEMBC2007, IEEE-Healthcom2010, IEEE-Healthcom2018, pHealth2011, member of the steering Committee of the IEEE-Healthcom conference, ClinMed special sessions at BIOSTEC 2021 and 2022…).

Bobak Mosadegh received his B.S. and M.S. in biomedical engineering from the University of California, Irvine. He performed undergraduate and graduate level research in Professor Noo Li Jeon’s lab, working on gradient generating microfluidic devices. Dr. Mosadegh received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor while working in the lab of Shuichi Takayama. His research involved the development of microfluidic integrated circuits and various cell patterning methods using aqueous two-phase systems and microfluidic devices. Under the guidance of George M. Whitesides, Dr. Mosadegh performed his postdoctoral training at Harvard University and the Wyss Institute of Biologically Inspired Engineering. His research focused on developing two technologies, I) a 3D paper-based cell culture system for the study of ischemic gradients on cancer cells and cardiomyocytes, and ii) actuators and control systems for soft robotics. Dr. Mosadegh started as an Assistant Professor in the department of Radiology, at Weill Cornell Medicine, in Nov. of 2014, and is currently an Associate Professor. He also served as the Director of the Dalio Institute of Cardiovascular Imaging and was the convener for the ISO working group on transcatheter cardiac occluders.

An electronic engineer with over 30 years of experience in the integration and automation of processes using IT tools. Currently, Director of the Mechatronics Engineering and Biomedical Engineering programs at the Universidad Autonomous from Peru , I lead the design and construction of both academic programs. With a solid academic background, Carlos has completed studies in Electronic Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Engineering, a Master's in Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, and is currently in the process of obtaining his Ph.D. in Strategic Management at the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola. Professional experience in various areas, including mechatronics, biomedical, environmental, industrial, and systems engineering. I have collaborated on significant projects with companies such as Telefónica and the National Rehabilitation Institute, and am currently developing a hand prosthesis that integrates biomedical and mechatronics engineering. Recognized in national robotics competitions and in the process of publishing research in the mentioned areas. My knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence, automation, and the construction of software systems integrated into biomedical applications allow me to lead significant innovations in this field. Committed to integrative projects addressing environmental and health issues in vulnerable populations in Peru, this will improve the quality of life through technological innovation.

Balazs Sarkadi, MD, Ph.D., spent several years as a post-doc and then as a visiting scientist at major universities in the United States and Canada. He is research professor at Semmelweis University, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, past president of FEBS, ICRO, and ITTS, member of several international research societies including the Academia European. He obtained numerous awards, including the Denis Gabor award for research application development. His research has been focusing on membrane proteins which play a major role in the multidrug resistance of cancer, in general pharmacology, and in stem cell function. His recent work is related to transporters in pluripotent stem cells and in stem-cell derived differentiated tissues and organoids, the application of organoids in drug development. He has published more than 320 papers in international scientific journals, with a citation number over 17,000 (in WoS, or 24,500 in Google Scholar) with an h-index of 71/75. He has several international patents already in commercial applications.

Camillo Porcaro is a distinguished computational neuroscientist and Associate Professor at the University of Padova. Tuan D. Pham is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Imaging, Diagnostics, and Trauma at Bart's and Queen Mary University of London. He was awarded a Global Talent Visa with endorsement from The Royal Society for his work in AI and imaging in medicine. He also serves as an Honorary Professor with Barts Health NHS Trust, focusing on integrating academia with healthcare. Professor Pham leads research on AI in medical imaging, signal analysis, and classification, fostering collaborations within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry to advance innovation. His career includes pivotal roles such as Senior Research Professor in AI and Founding Director of the Center for AI at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia, and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Linkoping University, Sweden. Additionally, he held leadership positions in Japan and Australia, significantly contributing to bioinformatics and medical engineering. Dr. Akers is an Associate Professor and the Research Director for the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UTSW Medical Center in Dallas, TX. His research is dedicated to developing innovative preclinical and translational molecular imaging techniques to enhance our ability to diagnose, stage, and treat cancer and other devastating diseases. This includes creating methods to study pharmacological profiles and achieve tumor-selective contrast enhancement using small molecule and nanoparticle-based agents. His goals encompass translating fluorescence-guided surgery and depth-independent phototherapy into clinical practice, with the aim of eradicating cancer through real-time augmented reality in the operating room and engineered constructs that activate the immune system to eliminate metastatic disease.

Bunyarit. Meksiriporn, Lecturer atDepartment of Biology, School of Science, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. Dr. Bunyarit Meksiriporn is a tenure-track lecturer at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), specializing in immunoengineering. His research focuses on engineering antibodies, cytokines, vaccines, and delivery platforms targeting difficult-to-drug molecules for applications in cancer immunotherapy and infectious diseases. Dr. Meksiriporn earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University under the supervision of Professor Matthew DeLisa and completed postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University with Professor Jamie Spangler. I completed my high school diploma in Mathematical Sciences in 2022 and earned a University Diploma in Scientific and Technical Studies (DEUST) from FST Errachidia in 2024. Currently studying biomedical engineering at FST Settat, I am passionate about integrating academic learning with real-world innovation.
